Our general investment criteria for businesses seeking funding

Boca Comm Private Equity is, above all, a disciplined investor.

Consistent with the objectives of our capital partners, our orientation is toward investments that offer superior risk-adjusted returns. While we seek the higher returns available in the private equity and real estate markets, preservation of capital remains a key objective.

Our investment approach includes unusual flexibility of capital structure: we consider both debt and equity and both controlling and minority situations. As a result, we have an ability to coordinate investments in everything from the common stock of private companies to private land development. Similarly, we have investment-specific targets, taking into full account the unique risks of each situation.

We believe the cornerstone of any portfolio company or development project is its senior operating management. We do not organize investments merely in business plans, nor do we seek to operate businesses or assets. Rather, we seek proven operators and managers who display the skills and personal commitment to make the enterprise succeed.

We have no particular geographic focus but we prefer to operate where we have some local or regional presence. This presence gives us unparalleled insight into market conditions and the unique political, economic, and business forces at play on our deal-flow.

Private Equity
Boca Comm Private Equity organizes investments in a wide range of industries and transaction structures.

As premiere global intermediaries, we secure capital from a wide range of partners. We will continue to seek new private investments in industries where we have experience and in situations where we can partner with proven operating managers. Our portfolio will span a wide array of sectors, including restaurant and tourism, manufacturing, distribution, business services, hospitality and catering, health-care products and services, and consumer products. Typical investments are for projects or businesses requiring finance from €20 million to €400 million per transaction (or more, we really have no upper limit)in such situations as:
  • Privately held companies seeking to accelerate growth through expansion, acquisition or market consolidation
  • Leveraged acquisitions of businesses with strong market positions
  • Family-owned companies seeking to facilitate generational ownership changes or to recapitalize
  • Late-stage high-potential ventures not dependent on unproven technologies
  • Small- and mid-capitalization public companies seeking negotiated placement of preferred equity
Real Estate
Boca Comm Private Equity real estate professionals and investment partners invest in companies or alongside operating partners who develop, own and manage a broad range of assets both by property type and geographic location. We emphasize hands-on asset management with our operating partners and continual attention to the timing of asset sales to maximize the value to our partners and investors. Typical commitments range from €5 million to €50 million per transaction.

We are able to manage investments in a range of property types, including office, retail, industrial and residential projects, as well as hotels, self-storage, mobile home communities and land. We are currently exploring investments on a number of fronts, including:
  • Real estate operating companies seeking to accelerate growth through new development opportunities or to recapitalize their balance sheets
  • Development firms focused on new construction and renovation
  • Real estate management companies
  • Firms seeking to acquire undervalued real estate assets
